If you prove that you are a foreign tourist visiting Nara by showing your passport at any of the above 4 museums, you will not have to pay the admission fee.
The reason we don’t want charge foreign tourists entrance fees into these museums is the following: The Governor of Nara Prefecture, Arai Shogo has been told by foreign tourists that the entrance fees are too high, and that they wish they could be lowered. There are several places abroad where foreigners do not have to pay entrance fees. We would like to show our appreciation to people who come from distant places all the way to see the sights in Nara.
We hope you will be able to come and visit these sights in Nara.
